Administration Structure

Uru Secondary school follows the administration structure of the catholic diocese of Moshi, where by (Rev Ludovick Minde) is at the top assisted by the Education Secretary who has educational advisory body and the school board.

The structure has a school head assisted by the deputy head who is a coordinator between teachers, students and non-teaching staff. The structure is then followed by the senior Academic master in line with Economic project masters, Cultural master, Discipline master and Sports and games master.

As it goes down the head of departments are found, followed by Subject teachers ,and finally students government.

ABOUT URU SECONDARY SCHOOL

Uru secondary school is one of the secondary school managed by the Catholic Diocese of Moshi. The school started in 1973 with objectives of providing secondary education to the youths. It is boarding and day school. It is located in Kilimanjaro Region, Moshi District in Uru North Ward. The school is found 10km North of Moshi Town.

The glamour of mount Kilimanjaro adds color to the school environment as you enter the gate of Uru secondary school after the junction to the sacred heart Uru Roman Catholic Church and adjacent to Uru primary school and Uru dispensary.

OUR OBJECTIVES

To cultivate and develop in sustainable reading culture for both students and teachers
To create a conducive learning environment that is supportive to the entire process of teaching and learning.
To improve and enhance students and staff knowledge and skills in information and technology
To enhance individual capacities in demonstrating talents and innovations for the betterment of oneself and the society.
To maintain and improve the academic performance of students in internal and external examination.
Promote and maintain discipline and social welfare of all individuals during and after schooling
To build and strengthen good relationship between the school and society around.

OPERATIONAL AREA COVERAGE

The school works in operation with diocesan education directives and governance in the national educational policy.

The school internal operation is executed by headmaster and his subordinates in collaboration with all staff and students.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

The school performs several activities including educational curriculum implementation and extra-curricular activities like initiation and management of various projects (dairy, piggery maize and banana farms, vegetable garden, milling, bakery and shop) and sports and games.
